As part of the European Month of Photography 2025, students from the Lycée des Arts et Métiers and the Lycée Aline Mayrisch came together to explore how photography is evolving in an age shaped by digital technology, social media, and artificial intelligence. Under the theme “Rethinking Photography,” they questioned the medium’s changing nature—its material form, its social impact in a world saturated with images, and its technological transformation through emerging AI tools. Each student approached the theme personally and experimentally, creating works ranging from analogue darkroom prints and modified Polaroids to AI-generated images and nature-inspired performances. Guided by teachers Séverine Bauer (LAML), Christiane Legill (LAM) and Bruno Oliveira (LAM), and coordinated by Edmond Oliveiro (LAM), this collaboration encouraged dialogue between traditional techniques and contemporary innovations. The result is a compelling exhibition that reflects how a new generation interprets and reimagines photography in a rapidly shifting visual culture. ( with the support of the City of Luxembourg )
